Synopsis:

Bella continues to anxiously await graduation so that she can finally turn and spend the rest of eternity with Edward. Edward it still pushing that they marry first and promises that he himself will turn her if she does marry him. Bella spends most of the book debating her choices and how it will effect her future. Her relationship with Jacob is still strained but maybe on the mend since a bigger problem is lurking nearby. There have been a string of unsolved murders that seem to lead back to a group of newborn vampires. Will the werewolves and vampires team up to save their community?

Review:

Bella was a little hard to handle in this book. I had to constantly remind myself that she was a teenager and that of course she didn't always make the right decision. Oftentimes in this book Bella acted selfish and then proceeded to act guilty about her actions later on. There are many examples of this with her relationships with Jacob and Edward. She would spend time with Jacob knowing that it would only hurt him because he had such strong feelings for her. It would also hurt Edward because he was aware of Jacob's feelings but also because werewolves and vampires are supposed enemies.

Even though Bella has a hard time clearly defining her feelings for the two men in her life, you can definitely see how much they love and care for her. When Bella finds herself in the center of trouble with the newborn vampire clan Jacob is quick to offer the services of his werewolf buddies alongside the Cullens.

Meyer, of course is able to keep you hooked not only with the romance but also with the incredible fight scenes. There is tons of action mixed in with the love triangle. Eventually Meyer does give you a hint of what the future holds for Bella and Edward. Bella agrees to marry him with the promise that he will turn her after they are married. Jacob knows this and is trying his best to accept this while remaining true to his heritage and to his best friend.
